Additionally, there is an orange alert for five districts and a yellow alert for all other districts.

The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain till 10 am today, with heavy rain predicted in six districts of the state. A red alert has been sounded in Kutch, Dwarka, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli and Gir Somnath districts till 10 am due to heavy rain forecast.
Yellow alert has been announced in 27 districts of the state. Apart from this, Patan, Sabarkantha, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Bhavnagar are under orange alert. This shows that the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in these districts. A yellow alert indicates the forecast of heavy rain in the districts specified by the Meteorological Department.
Very heavy rain forecast in these districts
As per Met department map, Valsad, Porbandar and Dwarka are on red alert for heavy rain today. Surat, Navsari, Dadranagar Haveli, Daman, Junagadh, Amreli and Gir Somnath are also expected to receive significant rainfall, indicated by orange alert.
These areas including Kutch, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Vadodara, Chotaudepur, Dang, Narmada, Bharuch and Tapi are under yellow alert due to expected heavy rains.
Meteorologist Paresh Goswami had earlier predicted rain due to an active cyclonic circulation over the state. Expected rainfall did not occur despite the presence of multiple active systems. This discrepancy presents an interesting research topic.
He mentioned that Gujarat has seen lack of rain despite indications of heavy rains. The next forecast predicts significant rainfall on 19th and 20th of this month.
